Setting up an FRProxy proxy in BitBrowser
BitBrowser (比特浏览器) is an antidetect browser widely used in Asia, generous on its free tier, where each window carries its own proxy and fingerprint.
update Updated
- Official site: https://www.bitbrowser.net/
- Platforms: Windows, macOS
- Price: free tier with a comfortable number of windows, then a subscription
Why it keeps coming up
Two prosaic reasons: the free tier is wider than its competitors', and the interface exists in English as well as Chinese. To evaluate profile-based compartmentalisation without committing to a subscription, it is often the first thing people try.
The vocabulary differs: where AdsPower and Dolphin say profiles, BitBrowser says browser windows (浏览器窗口). It is the same thing: an isolated environment.
Step-by-step setup
1. Create the window
Windows → New window. Name it after the account it will carry, not "Test 3": twenty windows
in, generic names cost you.
2. Fill in the proxy
In the network section of the form:
| Field | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Proxy method | Custom proxy (not "no proxy", not "platform proxy") |
| Type | SOCKS5 (or HTTP) |
| Host | frproxy.com |
| Port | your port |
| Account / Password | your panel credentials |
3. Test the network
Check network button. BitBrowser shows the IP, the country and sometimes the carrier. You should
read a French IP and a mobile operator.
4. Align the fingerprint
- Time zone: follow the IP.
- Language:
fr-FR. - WebRTC: "replaced" / "proxy" mode, never "real".
- Platform: consistent with a phone if your proxy is a 4G proxy.
The trap specific to BitBrowser
A new window's default proxy option is not "custom proxy". If you confirm without touching it, the window opens on your direct connection — and nothing on screen shouts about it. Get into the habit of running the network test before opening the window, every single time you create one.
Strengths and limits
| ✅ | ❌ |
|---|---|
| Wide free tier: ideal to get started | Incomplete English documentation, help often falls back to Chinese |
| Bilingual interface | The default proxy setting is the wrong one: a classic mistake |
| Bulk proxy import | Less automation than Dolphin |
| Reasonable resource use | Publisher less known in Europe: judge against your own requirements |
